FAQ

Common questions

Who can apply?

Student teams and STEM programs at schools, colleges and nonprofits: FSAE, Baja, EV, solar, rocketry and robotics teams, FIRST teams (FRC and FTC) and vocational schools. New England first, other US teams on review. Not individuals, not companies.

What does it cost us?

Your code takes off the discount we set for your team, up to 100 %, so you pay what is left, often nothing. Pickup in Littleton is free; if we ship, you pay the shipping at checkout. Rush, materials we do not stock, finishing and taxes are not covered unless we agree in writing.

How much can we get?

A discount set per team after your application, up to 100 % off, carried by your own code, with a credit limit for the season, both stated in your approval email. What you build, your season and what you offer back set the level.

What files do you need?

None to apply. Once approved, a STEP or DXF for each part, with the material, thickness and quantity. We check every file for free before we cut.

How do we order once approved?

Upload your parts on order.acpwaterjet.com with your own code. You see the price with your discount and pay what is left, often nothing. Parts the site cannot price, like your own material or hardware, come by email to team@acpwaterjet.org.

How long does it take?

7 business days from the day we approve your file to finished parts. Rush when the shop allows. Tell us your competition date when you apply.

What materials can you cut?

Aluminum (6061-T6 and 5052-H32), steel and stainless steel (304 and 316) from stock. Your own material is welcome: we cut UConn's busbars from the team's own copper.

Can you bend, tap and add hardware?

Yes, when we agree it for the batch. We bend on press brakes up to 96 in long, tap threads in house and press in PEM style hardware.

Do you ship?

Pickup at 170 Ayer Rd, Littleton, MA is free. If we ship, you pay the shipping at checkout; most teams pick up.

What do you want in return?

Our logo and a link to acpwaterjet.com on your sponsors page before the first batch ships. Optional: our logo on the car or robot, two photos a season, a social tag and a line in your season report.

Can we reapply next season, or pay for extra parts?

Yes to both. The sponsorship runs one season, about 12 months, then you reapply. Extra parts go through our instant quote at our normal prices.
