Forming Tolerances

Standard flange dimensions are ±0.030". Standard bend angles are ±1°.

Multiple bends

Tolerance stack up applies to dimensions that cross multiple bends. It does not mean that every dimension on a multi bend part automatically receives the flange tolerance multiplied by the total number of bends. Individual flange dimensions and bend angles follow their applicable standard tolerance. Overall formed dimensions may vary as the contributing bend variations add together.

Inside bend radius

The inside bend radius is produced using the closest available tooling for the selected material and thickness. The finished radius may vary from the nominal value shown on the drawing. A functionally critical radius must be identified and reviewed before ordering.
